A historical look at the sheet music written by African-American composers James Weldon Johnson and John Rosamond Johnson. Book includes over 730 full color photographs of sheet music cover from 1897 to the present. The Johnson brothers, born in Jacksonville, Florida, in the 1870s, they were two of the most important composers in the first half of the 20th century and leaders in the Harlem Renaissance.
