Serena Jakes receives a mysterious message from her sister begging to be rescued. Thunder City keeps its alternative humans busy, so the only person available to assist is Alek Blackwood, her ex-fiancé's younger brother. Awkward is an understatement, but working with the quieter brother was better than the alternatives.
Alek Blackwood had fallen in love with Serena the moment he'd met her. When Serena asks for aid, he knows this is the perfect time to show her he's not the kid she remembers. If only the PTSD from watching his twin fall from the sky and into a raging inferno would leave him alone.
