Beskrivelse
Charles Greenwood is a twenty-something art graduate who enters the world of politics because he wants to make the country a better place. It's an idealistic notion, but when he joins the Boulton Davis campaign for Senator of West Virginia, he truly believes that he is on the side of good. How can he not be?
Nathan Halladay is a staunch Republican and proud of it. Even though he is a gay man in a party that is proudly anti-gay, he believes that the policies on the right are what's best for a broken country. What is more, seeing as he is running for the position of Senator in West Virginia, he truly believes that once elected, he will have a chance to bring the party into the 21st Century.
The campaign gets off to a rocky start for Nathan Halladay. Not only are his positions wildly unpopular among the people, but as a gay man he is forced to hide his sexuality from the voter. The stress is real, and it pushes Nathan to breaking point... that is until a drunken night sees him trapped alone in an elevator with Charles. The two men hit it off and before long they retreat to Nathan's room for a night of fun the only way they know how.
Charles is disgusted in himself for what he did. Sleeping with the enemy! But worse was how much he enjoyed it. As a means to justify his actions - and to allow himself to sleep with Nathan again with a guilt free conscience - he attempts to convince Nathan of his bad polices and bring him over to the left. It's an idealistic notion, but that's Charles.
But as the campaign wears on, and as the two men continue their hidden affair, both begin to realize that what they have can be more than a casual romance. But with Nathan being a Republican and Charles a Democrat, it feels like a fantasy more than a reality. And soon the two men will be forced to ask themselves, what do they care for more? Their politics, or one another.
