Beskrivelse
The play "Royal Gift" recounts, in several acts, the acquisition of Palestine, the behind-the-scenes of the Sykes-Picot Agreement, and how a certain Lawrence of Arabia, immortalized by Hollywood, facilitated the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine. At that time, the crown of England was faltering and the Tsar had just been overthrown. The secret Sykes-Picot agreements were truly secret. They were preceded by the creation of the League of Nations, which served as a notary office according to some, while others argue it was to prevent the atrocities of the First World War from recurring. According to each perspective, this play reveals what was happening behind the scenes, at the Foreign Office, in Cairo, then under the declining Ottoman Empire.
