A Quarter Past Love is an romance story in step with the popular trend in sexy mommy stories. The beautiful but deeply flawed Rainie Todd opens the story as she awaits her young lover, Ryan. While waiting she is approached by his drug-dealing neighbor and offered a proposition to accompany him to a business deal. Her impatience and recklessness lead her to accept the offer exposing her to the underworld of the Moreno Cartel. This impulsive act puts her, her children and everyone in her life in danger. Throughout the story she is frequently visited by her dead twin sister, Rand, nudging, prodding and scolding her regarding her decisions. Already on the horizon, but on a back burner is her college friend, Dr. Michael Landry. He is charming, polished, and a true friend. Michael has his own dark demons from the past one being a need for ultimate control. The friendship takes a turn in their first interlude brought on by a sweet turned smoldering foot massage after a night of dancing at his office party. The heat of passion that burns within him is steamy and ignites a new dimension to their relationship as they embark on a powerful love story exploding with sensual adventure awakening Rainie's dormant sexual appetite. Their love grows deeper leading the way to an engagement. Intertwined in this intense but beautiful love story is conflict with Rainie's past, her witness to Cartel activity and an underlying fear of losing herself. She allows this fear to take over momentarily causing her to turn her back on all she loves and run leaving Michael at a loss and completely confused. After checking into a resort on the coast, she drifts off to sleep. Rand enters her dream guiding her back to Michael. The story ends as they exchange vows, but when it's time for Rainie's "I do" she pauses leading to the second book in the trilogy.
