Dr. Marty Scheinberg was a well-known and respected family physician with a private practice in his home in Savannah off Madison Square. Dr. Marty, along with his assistant Sam, joined the Confederate Medical Corps as a surgeon in a Regimental Field Hospital and followed the army into battle for three years.
