A Penguin Fell From the Sky

A new "Hot World" centers around a curious penguin named Squishy. A world a bit like yours, but mostly not. Squishy was born in the North Pole, more adventurous than his friends or any other penguin. As soon as Squishy's old enough his independent nature leads him away from his colony into the icy wilderness where he discovers an abandoned igloo and decides to move in. Growing bored, he decides to search for a bigger, better fishing hole. Instead he finds a nifty place to nap. It's a strange object he's never encountered (a private airplane). The pilot takes off while Squishy is sound asleep in the back of the plane. In the air, it malfunctions and the pilot bales out. Oh no! The engine explodes popping Squishy high into the atmosphere close to the sun. When Squishy floats down, he lands in a strange town populated with equally strange human citizens. It's a fine community, but extremely hot. The natives speak to Squishy without using sound. To to communicate with them they teach Squishy the tricky art of their language. Their doctor invents ways for Squishy's survive in their sweltering heat while the townsfolk try to determine his species, how he entered their realm, and then, with Squishy help, engineer a plan for his return home, to his family and friends, ice and snow. It isn't an easy task to turn his life right-side up, Squishy must learn to cooperate with people very unlike himself, to acquire a positive attitude in times of stress, develop patience and master the art of imagination.
