A Kingdom of Our Own

After losing his father at the height of the Vietnam War, twelve-year-old Dalton Hughes embarks on adventure across the Pacific Northwest in search of his mysterious godfather.

As this journey of self-discovery unfolds, Dalton's young and impressionable mind is exposed to the darker side of modern American life: the murder of a teenage schoolboy, rampant political corruption, and an isolated Amish community.

And as a result, what starts off as a search for a place to belong and call home rapidly degenerates into a battle for survival.
