Battling sea sickness and tolerating a small-minded, crooked ship captain are only a fraction of Lark Kravinoff's problems. With Maladara's Civil war narrowly avoided, Lark and Ash must set sail to the Old World to look for the one creature they once thought dead: Knox Farlash. Setting sail to a mysterious land isn't what Lark had in mind, but Finding her uncle could be her last hope at ridding the world of her father, Thomas. But when the monster they find seems to be preying on innocent humans in the Old World, Lark and Ash must decide whether to intervene or demand the answers they seek about Thomas. Does Knox truly hold the key to destroying Thomas and his kingdom? Lark will have to learn that in a world filled with dangerous monsters, things are almost never what they seem.
