In a post-apocalyptic future, the feudal system of power has become the way of life for the survivors living in the Badlands. Barons rule in the new society, keeping order over their workforces and control of their lands with the help of their clipper armies, each headed by a skilled regent. The goal for each Baron to hold the most power and control the most land is only the beginning for this story. One regent struggles with the responsibilities of his role, questioning his loyalty to his Baron as a result. As the show unfolds, we are introduced to a myriad of complex characters. Our journey today will dive deeper into the worlds of three of these characters.
Mr. Sherman Augustus, portraying Regent Nathaniel Moon, is a martial artist as well as a former pro football player. Miss Emily Beecham, who stars as the female Baron known as The Widow, shares what it was like to perform in an action role as a character who is a "force to be reckoned with." Coach Daniel Wu, the actor who plays the role of Sunny, Regent to Baron Quinn, describes how his desire to train in the martial arts began when he was a boy and stays with him through the present.
In this book, you will hear each of our guests share stories of training, injuries, perseverance, reverence to the Masters and instructors who helped them reach this point in their careers, and so much more, as they sit down with Jeremy Lesniak of whistlekick Martial Arts Radio.
