Helga Sandburg is the youngest daughter of Carl Sandburg and his remarkable wife, Lilian Steichen. Her uncle was the great photographer Edward Steichen. Like so many other Americans today, she sought the story of her origins and inheritance, of the grandparents who were immigrants from Sweden and Luxembourg.
