A Future and a Hope: Stories of Spiritual Healing After Abortion

A Future and a Hope contains fictionalized accounts of women participating in an eight-week postabortion healing workshop. Follow them as they share their abortion experiences and the resulting feelings of guilt, shame, and heartache. Their stories, based on many true events, end in beauty-from-ashes transformations that occur when the women accept the forgiveness and healing only God can provide.  

 

A Future and a Hope was a story on Jordan's heart for many years as she volunteered with women in settings similar to the one depicted in the book. It records accurately the emotional, spiritual, and physical trauma of abortion, which can place futures and families in jeopardy. Women, and men, often carry their abortion secrets for months, years, and even decades, leaving them wounded and unhealed. Jordan's heart for these people, as well her own recovery from post-abortion syndrome, led to her desire to pull back the curtain on what really happens when the "solution" of abortion becomes a nightmare. The book's resolution reinforces the importance of removing the lingering emotional residue of abortion and replacing it with forgiveness and hope.

 

Initially, Jordan believed her audience to be women who have experienced abortion and those contemplating the procedure. With the growing availability of abortion and the prevalence of abortion in the media, this book also speaks to men, to parents, and to pastors.
