INTRODUCTIONAND CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK 1.1 OVERVIEW The first chapter consists of nine Sections. The first and second section gives a comprehension and a short introduction of the overall concept about social problems. The third and fourth sections deal with definition, meaning, history, forms, and types of Eve-Teasing, Condition of Eve-Teasing. The fifth and sixth sections consist of women and empowerment, Laws of Eve Teasing, Psychology of Eve-Teasing, its causes, and consequences. It also describes in detail about Crime against women, its theoretical concepts, problems of Eve-Teasing, and Human Subject Protection. The seventh section consists of Self- Confidence, its meaning, parents and Self -Confidence, theoretical concepts, importance or significance, Self-Confidence, and Performance. The Eighth sections consist of Sexual harassment, its theories, Sexual Harassment as a Global Phenomenon, factors affecting the perception of sexual harassment, and historical background. Lastly, the ninth section discusses Young adults: concept, meaning and definition, its theories, and a brief peculiarity of Young adults and the Adolescence stage. 1.2 INTRODUCTION Women and violence have been seen as one of the closest compounds which are most visible as social problems around the world. As a universal concept, it takes different forms in different socio-cultural, socio-economic and socio-religious contexts. The United Nations General Assembly defines "violence against women" as "any act of gender-based violence that results in, physical, sexual or mental harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life".(General Assembly 48/104 declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women,1993) Eve- Teasing is an umbrella term for sexual harassment or molestation of women which can range in severity from stalking (hunt/chase), name-calling to,
