The pursuit of fish, whether for subsistence or recreation, is known as fishing. Hooks, lines, nets, traps, and fishing rods are just some of the tools used to coax fish from their natural environment.
Both commercial and recreational fishers cast their lines in rivers, lakes, seas, and other bodies of water. Although most people go fishing for either recreation or sustenance, this pastime has many other applications as well.
