In the New Testament, we're joined to the Lord as one spirit (1Corinthians 6:17). Our spirit is God's lamp that brings direction to our whole being (Proverbs 20:27). God's counsel or guidance is in our spirit because that's the seat of His Holy Spirit (Job 32:8; Proverbs 20:5). We're led or guided on the inside, not from the outside. Instead of seeking guidance from our brain and others, we must learn to follow our spirit that is now joined to God's Holy Spirit and is made smart by Him.
