Beskrivelse
40 years A Virgin is a book about a woman's decision to wait until marriage to have sex. Melika explores her beliefs about purity when she believed she was doing the 'right things' and contrasts it with an understanding of purity and abstinence after truly studying the Bible and deciding to live her life as a disciple of Jesus. As she explores this, Melika uses key scriptures that helped her make the changes in her life and that has helped her continue to wait. Melika is vulnerable and honest about her temptations and her desires. She wants her audience to understand that no one is perfect, but the Father, as Jesus himself said. Melika believes that showing her flaws and the ways she has fought to overcome her battles will help glorify God and hopefully encourage others to do the same things. Throughout the book, Melika shares stories about her life and the key scriptures she used in order to help her cling to her convictions. Additionally, Melika addresses how her life as a virgin is abnormal to the world, but is normal to the standard of the Bible. By addressing this, Melika hopes that other Christians, specifically teens and college students would be inspired to stand against the world's standard of living and live a counterculture, supernatural life that inspires and demonstrates a love for our Creator.
