Beskrivelse

John LeBrun started flying in Canada in 1955 in the RCAF. He joined the RAF in 1961 and began flying Vulcan in 1962. His first front line squadron was No. 83 as a co-pilot, followed by a tour on No.617 squadron as a captain. After that he became a flying instructor on No. 230 Operational Conversion Unit at RAF Finningley. His next tour was in Cyprus at RAF Akrotiri as Officer Commanding the Vulcan Simulator Training Complex. He then returned to 230 OCU then at RAF Scampton, as a flying instructor. He began an examiner tour on No. 1 Group Standardisation Unit at Scampton as the Central Flying School Vulcan Agent in 1978.

John retired from the RAF and from flying in 1982 due to a medical condition. He changed career to Information Technology until 1999, and although he recovered his flying licence in 1990, he stuck to IT. However, he did fly minis-with-wings: Cessna 152.

He and his wife Carole retired to France in 1999, returning to the UK in 2018.
