1984 Has Arrived is a fictional tale of Jeremy, the main character, and his two close friends, Mike and Sandy. His enlightenment and concerns with current times are related to the book "1984" and its philosophical tenets by George Orwell. Jeremy embarks on a transformational journey during his college years where the fictional aspects of "1984" appear to come to life through "real" world actions. Jeremy changes his major twice after encountering the political environments around him.
While Jeremy is the fictional character, all of the attributions of "real" life actions are non-fictional and sourced from various news reports throughout his journey. The intent is for you to experience what Jeremy has experienced (and what you might be experiencing each and every day). While fictional in nature, its overall intent is to be thought-provoking.
1984 Comes to Life takes the reader through a series of current and recent past events. This journey documents the path that western society is traversing. The travels may end in a dystopian future regulated via a totalitarian ideology, where BIG TECH is ruling without constraints and social media becomes addictive, pervasive, mind-controlling, and politically powerful. 1984 Has Arrived contends that the Washington D.C. swamp cannot be drained.
Jeremy and his gang of three faces the struggles of college as they assess the society that they will need to adapt to and survive in after graduation.
