Beskrivelse
10 Gulab Jamuns combines STEM elements with multicultural learnings, food, family, and a whole lot of fun!
Idu (Ee-doo) and Adu (Aa-doo) are very excited. Guests are coming over for dinner and Mama is making a special dessert-Gulab Jamuns! Sweet, golden, sugar-syrup-soaked Gulab Jamuns that melt in your mouth. But Mama asks them to stay away from the bowl of treats-they can only eat the Gulab Jamuns after the guests arrive. But can Idu and Adu wait?
This light-hearted, humorous story will warm your heart and make you hungry to try some Gulab Jamuns yourself. It also includes STEM elements of counting, addition, and subtraction. The recipe in the back is also a great hands-on activity to do with your little ones.
10 Gulab Jamuns is ideal for children ages one through eight (toddlers through third graders), and is a great gift for those who want to learn more about South Asia, India, or south Asian/Indian/Desi culture, and value multicultural stories and diversity in children's literature. This book also makes a great gift for Diwali, Holi, other holiday celebrations, as well as for baby showers and birthdays.
Counting, math, cooking, crafts-everything is more fun with 10 Gulab Jamuns!
10 Gulab Jamuns has been positively reviewed by Publishers Weekly, Booklist Online, and Asian Pacific American Librarians Association among others. It is included in the curriculum of the Children's Literacy Initiative (CLI.org), a U.S Department of Education grantee.
