The author was featured on America's Most Wanted for failing to appear in federal court for a mob-connected casino play that he was alleged to have masterminded. He disappeared for four years and began writing his memoir before he surrendered to the U.S. Marshals Service when his lawyer secured an acceptable deal for him.
