Aging scientist and failed spy Kenelm "Kenny" Ringstead is

commissioned by shadowy Professor Agwell to perform

a geochemical survey in the Cheviot Hills,

on the Anglo-Scottish border.

 

As he arrives his work is betrayed by an unhating but

very effective enemy.

 

Kenny is arrested by hostile agents and taken

to army camps for interrogation.

Is this the end for Kenny or a new beginning?
