The Future of Science, Technology, and the Cosmos was completed in 2002 and is only now finally available in published form. Presenting a "big picture" vision of reality and the future, the book covers theoretical science and cosmology; the philosophy of science; the impact of technology on human society and psychology; information technology, computerization, cyborgs, and robots; web networks and intelligence; energy, resources, industry, and nanotechnology; evolution, open systems theory, biotechnology, and the quest for immortality; the environment, ecological science, and ecological crises; the future of nature; space travel and space colonization; alien and cosmic intelligence; and the far distant future of the universe and the limits and scope of human knowledge. Discussions on all these topics are informed by contemporary science fiction, futurist thought, and visionary scientific and technological speculations.
