The Evolution of A Poet

What began as a Daily Journal assignment in a High School Creative Writing class, turned into a way for a troubled youth, an emotionally and physically abused young woman, to express herself, without restrictions, judgement or punishment. This is a poetic journey through life, beginning with a troubled teen, searching for answers to the turmoil that she fought every day. It follows the nightmares of a young adult looking for love and understanding from those around her-friends and family included. The path will lead the reader into the madness of an abused young woman and finally into the evolving mind of a woman that comes to terms with the struggles involving life, love, and death. In her own words, the author states that she "will never stop looking for the silver lining, the dragon in the sky, the fairy in the forest or the secret passage in an old home. It is through the imagination and through the experiences of life, whether they be good, bad or indifferent, that we all will continue to evolve...if we will only keep an open mind."
