The Emerald Eye Synopsis The Templeton's move from London to Malvern in the Midlands. Hollie and Craig, think it's because of their Fathers job, however, Dr Simon Templeton had other reasons besides his new position at Worcester Hospital. His wife, Shirley was not even aware of his secret past, wrapped up in her dress making business and bring up a family, there little to no time for each other. Life in the big city had seemed to swallow their lives, maybe this move is just what the Doctor ordered, but it's not a perfect world. At the new house, there is a Summer House situated at the bottom of the big garden, that was once a dwelling long ago, and it hid a dark secret. An ability to travel back in time, once discovered, the ability is too much to ignore during a school holiday. Making friends with Daniel and Alex, two brothers who live not far away, Craig and Hollie decide to explore history for real. At first it seems a fantastic way to see history in the flesh, but it's not long before they find out that it's the opposite. Not far from them is a second device, in the hands of a respected man, a Mr Coombs, who has a dark side. A side that will stop at nothing, to carry on with his time traveling crimes including murder, and woe bestow those who get in his way. In the 50's they think they ended his criminal days, but later have to return to a murder. A strange monk seems to appear from nowhere, having mystical powers. A link is found to Simon Templeton, who is forced to get involved, in fancy dress but not for laughs. They find themselves at the beginning of the English Civil War, helping people escape persecution, and witness a bloody battle, during which a young boy life is to be changed for ever. A ghostly knight in full amour and mounted, challenges them, seeking their help in return for a share of buried gold coins. Each time trip seems to connect to another. Each corner they turn, the Summer House and it's Time Travel device has a surprise in store, the new life from London is far from peaceful, some may say it's life's training ground for young people as personalities and character is forged. A summer holiday they won't forget, as Simon Templeton's secret is revealed. It's fast, it's witty, and quite gritty, riding time from adventure to adventure, and nightmare to nightmare.
