Suitcases

Do you take for granted the suitcase you carefully pack and take with you on a trip? Mentally, line in a row all the suitcases you have ever owned and carried with you. As a group, they look like empty tattered boxes. Individually, if you look closely and take the time to reflect, each one holds more than clothes and books. Each one holds memories, whether happy or sad, good or bad.

Each one has personally accompanied you, and perhaps it was the only thing you held on to tightly. If it were lost or misplaced, do you remember how anxious you were, like losing a friend? Then when it was recovered, you were relieved and smiling, and all was right with the world again.
