Beskrivelse

There is a surprising synergy between a fairytale about Eros & Fable by Novalis (1772-1801) and the paintings and etchings of Odilon Redon (1840-1916), and the combination of these works of art has given me the subtle means to portray soulfulness from before birth until after death.

Soulfulness is made up of male and female souls, who manifest cosmic awareness as playful interactions in time and space. The souls represent atmospheric movement and are influenced by both the old sun and the earth. Most of them are gradually corrupted, and as their play turns constructive, they become complicit in the materializations that warp the future into endless repetitions of the past and turn space into the shadow of ownership. As most of these fallen souls begin to identify with the earth and seek power only, they drain paradise of its energy to develop the underworld of evolution, embryology, and the petrifying mind.

Some other souls are simply confused and distracted, while a very few have maintained their integrity. The mother is able to make the sacrifice and internalize the sun, and the son enters the underworld to overcome inversion through transformation. They make it possible for fallen souls to find their way back into the future by following the shadow, which is so weighed down by debt and error now, as a guide.
