Each day Delitha has two goals: do her work well and stay out of her mother's way. As the daughter of an innkeeper, it doesn't seem odd that Delitha would live her young life as a servant. But few would guess at the darkness surrounding her family. Sister Sunday follows the life of Georgia born and bred Delitha in the 1920s. She desires to know life apart from grueling work and abuse. Finally finding it in New York City with an adoring and independent aunt, Delitha has freedom to let go of bitterness and learn about life as she could live it. But never could Delitha have planned that her path to forgiveness and love would lead back home to Georgia. Sister Sunday shows how strength is cultivated through endurance, how life is beautiful when simple, and that mercy and grace change everything.
