This preventive maintenance (PM) book is an essential guide for all maintenance professionals. This book explains how to set-up and improve a preventive maintenance policy in any industry. Topics covered in 6 chapters include: maintenance fundamentals, plannig systems, performance measurement, cost models, and modeling of the failure process. The performance measurement and PM techniques are presented in the book together with the Preventive Maintenance Cost and case studies of how to inspect and prevent failures for a number of standard equipments. The book is organized as follows: Chapter 1 serves as a literature review for the preventive maintenance. Chapter 2 defines the problem and provides information about the equipment of interest, including its reliability and maintainability characteristics and economic factors related to its maintenance actions. Chapter 3 deals with data collection and analysis. Chapter 4 deals with modeling the failure process.
