Poisonwood Key

Shy Mike has been banished by his no-so-loving family to summer camp in south Florida -- fittingly at a lonely little island named Poisonwood Key. Despite the incessant bugs, humorless skits, endless labor, blazing sunlight, and stifling humidity past the edge of moistness, it's better than his home life.

Things are finally looking up when he spots Heather and the other girls on the adjacent beach campsite, if only he could work up the courage to talk to her.

A daytrip across the island to the mangrove maze provides Mike the opportunity to make a love connection with Heather, but there's not much time for conversation. An unexpected Treasure Island-style discovery ends up being more than Mike and Heather bargained for when the smugglers return to their cache, and an epic chase begins....
