Opening to Love: Healing Your Relationship With God

Are you over 40, a Catholic and struggling with the Angry Old Man version of God you were taught as a child?If your relationship with God has been damaged, this book was written for you. 

Whether you're angry at Him, or feel that He's become distant and abstract, maybe even irrelevant; if you feel that you're not worthy of His love, or that He's not worthy of yours. Hopefully you'll find a way forward within these pages. 

This isn't a book based on cleverness. God doesn't need me to try to trick you into healing your relationship with Him. I could write a magnificent thesis worthy of Solomon, and at the end of the day, you could still look at it and say that it's all just words. 

I've set out to do two things. 

The first is to show you how your relationship with God has been manipulated, both by society and individuals who were at best misguided, at worst out for themselves. This is going to involve cleaning off a lot of, let's be polite and say "muck", from your concept of God; muck that's probably been slung around in the process of keeping you from being in a healthy relationship with God. 

Hopefully once we've cleaned up the mess that's corrupted your perception of God, this book will also show you a way to reconnect with Him. Not through cleverness. Just the first few baby steps towards holding out your hand.
