Love and Death in Barcelona

Welcome to the twenty-sixth, exciting episode of the Love and Death Mystery and Political Espionage Series.



After returning from the war-torn islands of the Philippines, Gatewood's rest at home in Gibson City, Illinois, is cut short by a crisis in Europe where the Catalonian region of Spain demands self-rule.



Before heading to Europe, Gatewood must deal with the trial of Chicago's corrupt leader, Mayor Riccardo Gennaro. Chicago is also poised to suffer an all-out turf war between the SBP mafia from Russia and the Nay Keng crime family from Thailand.



The CIO sends Gatewood on diplomatic assignments to Japan, Sweden, Italy, Germany, and Spain. In Madrid, Harold meets with his old friend, King Carlos Alfonso IV, and the two discuss how to address the problem of Catalonian independence, which threatens to tear Spain apart and damage America's European interests.



Gatewood finds time to see the La Tomatina, the world's biggest tomato fight, in Brunol, Spain, and meets a beautiful and mysterious woman who steals his heart and impacts his mission.



The riots in Barcelona, Spain, and Gatewood's mission, are complicated by the actions of the OWFA, and the AIO's "Operation Electrical Strike".
