Beskrivelse
In 1830, Abraham Lincoln reached the age of majority. After helping his parents settle in Decatur, Illinois, Lincoln set out on his own, "a piece of floating driftwood" seeking his way in life. Landing in New Salem, he soon developed the traits of his character that would ultimately lead to the presidency. From New Salem to Springfield, Lincoln would gain in stature each year impressing colleagues and opponents alike. Volume 3 of "Lincoln Slept Here" follows Lincoln from Decatur to his election as president and his farewell to his neighbors in Springfield. It is an amazing journey.
