Kansas-Blood and Ink

1854, and opposing forces are moving into Kansas Territory to make it a free or slave state. Young newspaper reporter Jesse Hendren works for the Herald of Freedom and witnesses the increasing violence as Border Ruffians steal an election, raid farms and villages and control the government. Abolitionists like John Brown retaliate with cold blooded murder, setting off a war that will become known as "Bleeding Kansas." All the major characters are here: Quantrill's Raiders, Bloody Bill Anderson, John Brown, Abraham Lincoln, Jesse James and a list of territorial governors who are unable to control the bloodshed that will signal the start of the Civil War.
