It feels like I was born cooking. Most of my recipes stem from my childhood years, helping prepare meals with my mother. Now, a Southern Kentucky woman who married a New Jersey Italian man, we have been happily eating together for 40 years. *** After visits to Italy, I learned many Italian dishes first hand and experimented with them in my tiny kitchen. The recipes are very well written, the ingredients and directions are arranged in the order of their use which makes it very easy to follow and such a pleasure to make. They let one finish the dinner meal without any surprises. *** My soups are the really hearty ones that make a meal in themselves. Anyone can create the dishes they remember as a child at Granny's table but never found in print, until now. Best of all the ingredients are readily available from any grocery store. A very good book for anyone who loves either of these American Southern or Italian foods. A perfect gift for newlyweds and anyone interested in cooking up full bodied old fashioned wholesome authentic dinners that we remember only Granny used to make.
