God's Hill

God's Hill, a history of love and stewardship, tells of settlers from the Rhine region in Germany building a community with their bare hands, literally. They developed a wine business that flourished, then fell victim to blight. The homes they fashioned from the native limestone rock they found in the fields and creeks, stand today, protected by the National Register of historic Places. The school that moved from living rooms to a log cabin in 1851 has been in operation for 164 years. This is the inspiring history of their struggles, triumphs and heartaches, as they worked to build a community for themselves that would provide for their children and future generations.
