Cooper published, eventually, five volumes of travel writings in epistolary form on his journeys around western Europe, all now available from CSP. This volume relates to his first stay (on this occasion - he had previously visited the country as a sailor) in England, but also contains more general reflections on the country and its relationship with his own.
