False Starts and Mishaps

Life is full of false starts and mishaps. But what's so great about how you start? Why do people care so much about where you come from, your family, what school you went to, do you have money? Shouldn't the focus be on how you use what you have? And what's the deal with mishaps in life? A friend moves away, you lose your job, your kids don't respect you, loved one dies? Why do those things have to derail your life? These questions and more are explored in False Starts and Mishaps. But isn't this a book of poetry? Shouldn't the book be about nature and flowers and babies or something? Poetry has a subversive agenda of trying to help with beautiful words, images and metaphors.
