It's unclear where the concept of the vampire and our fear of these creatures come from. Whether they truly existed, as believers insist, or whether they are an exaggerated re-imagination of an ancient practice borne of frequent famine is evidently impossible to know. The only certainty is that vampires continue to stir curiosity to this day. This collection is an attempt to provide an overview of the vampire in literature across time and cultures.
