Good news - people applaud first civilians in space: on 11 July 2021 Virgin Galactic launched its founder Richard Branson (English businessman, age 70.9, on 18 July he turned 71) into suborbital flight (a peak altitude of 86.1 km, as part of a test flight).

On 20 July 2021, Blue Origin sent its first crewed mission into space using its New Shepard rocket and spaceflight system. Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos (57.5 years old) was part of a four-member crew along with his brother Mark Bezos, Wally Funk, and Oliver Daemen. The flight was suborbital, and the capsule reached the edge of space, at an altitude of more than 107 km, (the space starts at 100 km).

People noticed that Professor Xue Lan, vice chairman of the Board of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology Policy, and dean of Schwarzman College of Tsinghua University, made promising remarks at the 23rd annual meeting of the China Association for Science and Technology that took place in Beijing on 27 and 28 July 2021.

People remember that 730 years ago, on 1 August 1291, the cantons of Uri, Schwyz, and Unterwalden united to defend the peace, forming the nucleus of the Old Swiss Confederacy. Sunday, 1 August 2021, is Swiss National Day, with the traditional raspberry elderflower cake, and people wish Switzerland and le Président de la Confédération, Guy Parmelin, les meilleurs vœux et un joyeux 1er août 2021 !
