The greatest improvement, however, has been made by fusing into the continuous story all the additional material which had accumulated during the past thirty-one years, thus doing away with the cumbrous supplement Of former editions. It is believed that no portion of the civil war has been more fully and faithfully recorded. Abundant references verify every material statement.
