Containment of high-strength concrete columns

The construction of high-rise buildings has shown the need for very advanced techniques and special concrete for concreting structural elements (Bäant et al. (2008), Joseph and Kaufman (2017), Abdelrazaq et al. (2008)). The high strength of the materials used in this type of construction is aimed at reducing the cross-sections of the structural elements. The fact that high-strength concrete has interesting technological advantages; it could be used for slender buildings as well as for the construction of engineering structures.
