Beskrivelse
This collection, written by leading educators in the community leisure field clarifies the nature and significance of a community approach to leisure and recreation policy, practice and provision.
It is divided into two sections: Part 1 examines the nature and development of a community approach to the provision of leisure and recreation services and is mainly theoretical in its approach. Part 2 examines critically the application of community approaches to leisure and recreation provision in specific contexts, drawing upon the 'theoretical' discussions of the earlier part of the book as a means of analysis.
The main issues covered in Community Leisure and Recreation are: *critical analysis of the community practice approach in public policy *locating community leisure in a market economy *exploring theory-practice links in community arts, sport, recreation
