Cognitive Processes in Comprehension is a look at what goes on in the mind of the listener or reader when he hears a sentence during a conversation or reads a passage in a book. For most adults, comprehension is rapid, automatic, and effortless. But, despite its apparent simplicity, comprehension includes a myriad of subprocesses, each of which by itself constitutes a formidable computational task.
