Embark on a transformative journey with this dissertation that addresses the pressing need for Contemporary Chinese Christians to navigate the complex terrain of cultural identity and faith. Faced with the tension of being authentically Chinese and Christian, this work employs the practical theological method, guided by the theology of inculturation, to carve out a new path forward.
The study, drawing on Confucianism, contends that embracing the concept of becoming a Junzi-a virtuous person-is a pivotal step in reconciling the tension of being authentically Chinese and Christian. Catherine M. LaCugna's Trinitarian theological insights are then interwoven to outline a model for becoming an authentically Christian, specifically a Trinitarian Christian.
