A medical coder is responsible for reviewing patients' medical records and applying codes for reimbursement and research purposes. You may also be responsible for maintaining medical records. The Certified Coding Associate CCA exam qualifies one as an entry-level medical coder with basic coding competencies sufficient for working in a physician's office, hospital, or other medical settings.
