Beskrivelse
This is a second, updated edition to the original Brevard Scribblers Christmas Anthology 2021. It features a hundred extra pages of stories and poetry that are all related to the theme of Christmas yet each one very distinct in style and subject matter. It's a delightful and unique gift to give at Christmas that introduces readers to some very special authors who all publish in their own right in a variety of genres. The Scribblers all live on the east coast of Florida now and some of their writings in this anthology are deeply rooted in the local cultures and traditions but most of them have lived in colder climates and overseas too and have experienced Christmas in a variety of settings and situations (social, political, economic, cultural, emotional) that will resonate with readers in different ways. Christmas is celebrated - or not - in so many ways around the world and this compilation captures perfectly the different ways that one day of the year can be experienced, from the traditional, to the hilarious to the poignant to the downright irreverent. Some of the stories are autobiographical and some are sheer fantasy with every other style and genre in between so there is something for everyone here. The collection begins with the fiendishly difficult fifty-word mini saga, which aims to encapsulate a universal message within a nugget of a moment - not an easy feat to pull off. These are followed by poetry, memoirs and several short stories that wrap the whole parcel up very nicely. Happy Christmas readers!!
