All art work is 100% original and created by R.S. Rodella. In this edition you will find many coloring options and designs. You can use colored pencils and gel pens that will not bleed, or choose another option and place a blotter page underneath. There is a test pages in the back to check your colors and bleeds. The pages are NOT PERFORATED but they are printed on one side with plenty of room to cut and frame. All four cover images are included in this edition. The tones of a grayscale image allows you to blend colors together. The light and dark colors serve to give it depth and dimension. You end up getting a deeper perspective. When you blend the colors they look almost surreal. This version works very well with colored pencils as they are easiest to blend. If you use gel pens, you have many options as far as color and highlights are concerned. Pen & Ink: For intermediate colorists. With pen and ink you have the depth of the grayscale but cleaner fill lines and a white background. You still get a very nice dimensional effect as you still have a degree of toning. It really depends on the type of pen or pencil you use. I have used chalk as well. With the chalk you can blend the colors easily by rubbing it. You don't get quite as much depth with pen and ink as you do with grayscale but it is still produces a very nice deep image. Black and White: For novice colorists. The black and white images have cleaner, more defined lines and fill spaces. The background is white. This choice is easy enough that kids can do it. This is also the option you want to make if you want to color the pattern but not concern yourself as much with depth and light and dark tones. The deeper detail in grayscale and pen is implied rather than brought to the front. It can be colored over. With this choice you can even use crayons or markers. Sit back, relax, have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Have fun and enjoy your own creativity
