The Third edition of this successful Atlas of Osteoporosis is designed to provide a wide range of physicians with a pictorial guide to this important disease. The illustrations are an excellent teaching resource and the text provides a concise overview to osteoporosis. For the first time, text and illustrations are fully integrated.
The book contains details of skeletal biology and the pathophysiology of osteoporosis, with a series of diagrammatic and SEM illustrations. There is greater emphasis on clinical factors in this edition, particularly in areas such as nutrition, exercise, and growth. There are also important sections on diagnosis using bone densitometry and the laboratory evaluation of bone disorders.
