Fourteen-year-old Karina couldn't believe the judge's verdict. She was being sent to an alternative school that taught students how to fly ultralight airplanes. Didn't the judge know Karina was the only survivor of a plane crash that killed her parents? Wasn't there something in the American justice system that prevented cruel and unusual punishment? How could she deal with her loss and the terrible nightmares that she would face if placed in such an environment? Karina had promised herself she would not cry, but now the tears flowed uncontrollably. What new nightmares lie ahead?
